How to change a watch face's settings on your Garmin watch

A Connect IQ watch face cannot react to buttons while you look at it, so its settings live in the watch's own menu. Most faces on this site put their whole menu there, so you do not need the phone to change a colour or a data row.

On watches with buttons (Forerunner, fēnix, epix, Enduro, Instinct)

1. From the watch face, hold UP to open the menu.
2. Pick Watch Face.
3. Scroll to the face you use and press START.
4. Choose Customize. The face's own menu opens, drawn in its style.

On touchscreen watches without an UP button (Venu, vivoactive)

Open the settings menu and choose Watch Face; the steps after that are the same: pick the face, then Customize.

From the phone

The same settings are available on the phone, under your watch's installed watch faces in the Garmin apps. Both places write the same values, so you can switch between them.
