Settings on the watch
Hold UP, pick Watch Face, select Tape Deck, press START, then Customize. The menu is drawn in the style of the face: your Tracks, a short How it works guide, the shell, the label, the typeface, the two meters, the tape counter, and switches for the spinning reels and the always-on brightness. The same settings are in Garmin Connect if you prefer the phone.
The day on a cassette
A type I cassette fills the face: shell with screws and tape guides, a paper label with the time in large type and the date, and a window with two reels. The tape winds from the left reel to the right one as the day goes by; a scale from 0H to 24H sits above the window. The reels turn when you raise your wrist. At midnight the cassette turns over, from side A to side B and back. Two VU meters above the cassette show your heart rate and your step goal; a rolling tape counter below shows your steps, with the watch battery and the sunset on each side.
Make it yours
- Five shells: black, clear blue, smoke, white, red.
- Five labels: classic, chrome, rainbow, mint, kraft.
- Three typefaces for the time: condensed, geometric, technical.
- Each meter shows one of six: heart rate, step goal, watch battery, Body Battery, weekly intensity goal, floors goal.
- The tape counter shows steps, calories, floors, altitude or distance.
If your watch has no value, a meter shows no needle and the counter shows dashes, rather than a made-up number.
Tracks
Each day you reach the step goal set on your watch records a track; ten tracks make a full tape. The Tracks page shows your tracks, full tapes, current and best streak and the last seven days. On watches with a touchscreen, press and hold the face to see them on the label. Hold again to hide them.
Always-on
A separate always-on design on a black screen: the cassette and its reels as thin lines, thin digits and the date. It shifts slightly every minute to protect the screen.
Compatible with Garmin AMOLED watches listed below. English only. Nothing leaves the watch.
